Questions
Before you book.
Ask us anything on WhatsApp. A person from our Shimla team replies.
Is Kasol part of Manali?
No, Kasol is a separate village in the Parvati Valley, about 75 km and 3 hours by road from Manali via Kullu and Bhuntar. They are not the same town, but almost every trip covers both together, so we sell them as one circuit rather than two separate destinations.
How many days do I need for Manali Kasol?
A comfortable trip needs 4 to 5 nights: enough time for Solang Valley, Old Manali, Kasol and a short walk toward Kheerganga. Add 2 more nights if you want the full Kheerganga trek or a Tosh and Chalal loop.
Do I need a permit for Rohtang Pass?
Yes. Rohtang Pass allows only a limited number of vehicles per day under National Green Tribunal rules, with odd-even entry by registration number, so an online permit is mandatory. We arrange this in advance as part of the Rohtang-inclusive packages above.
Is the Kheerganga trek difficult for a beginner?
It's a moderate trek, about 12 km one way through forest with a steady climb, doable by most reasonably fit beginners in 5 to 7 hours. A natural hot spring at the top is the reward, and overnight camping there is common.
What is the best time to visit Manali Kasol?
March to June for pleasant weather and blooming valleys, September to November for clear post-monsoon skies, and December to February if you want snow at Solang and Manali. Rohtang Pass itself usually stays closed by heavy snow from around December to April, depending on the year.
Is Malana open to tourists?
The Malana viewpoint and approach are open to visitors, but entry into village homes, touching local property and photographing residents without consent are best avoided out of respect for local customs. We can add a Malana viewpoint stop to most itineraries on request.
