Is Khajjiar included in a Dalhousie tour package?
Yes, Khajjiar is about an hour from Dalhousie and included as a half or full-day excursion in most packages above, since almost every Dalhousie visitor adds it on. If you'd rather stay overnight in Khajjiar itself, let us know and we'll adjust the plan.
How far is Dalhousie from Pathankot or Chandigarh?
Pathankot is the nearest railhead, about 80 km and 2.5 to 3 hours away. From Chandigarh it's roughly 320 km and 8 to 9 hours by road. We arrange pickup from either point depending on how you're arriving.
What is the best time to visit Dalhousie?
March to June for pleasant weather and clear views, July to September for lush monsoon greenery, and December to February for snow at Khajjiar and Dainkund Peak. Peak season hotel rates are higher, so book a few weeks ahead.
Is a permit needed for Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary?
Yes, a forest department entry permit is required, which we arrange as part of the Kalatop-focused packages above. It's a simple formality handled on the day, not something you need to apply for separately in advance.
Can I visit Chamba as part of the same trip?
Yes, Chamba is about 2 hours from Dalhousie and works well as either a day trip or a 1 to 2 night extension, which is exactly what the Chamba Extension package above covers.
